Six-time boxing championship winner MC Mary Kom will interact with the youth during an event under Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2019. An event, Youth Connect, is a part of VGS this time aimed at inspiring the young generation for exploring new avenues and the Mary Kom will be attending the same.
The Gujarat government has invited Mary Kom for interaction with youth to be held at IIM-Ahmedabad on January 16. She would be accompanied by the young representative from Adani Group, Karan Adani who is also a CEO of Adani Port and Special Economic Zones.
Besides, Group Senior Vice-President of Reliance Industries Limited Dhanraj Nathwani and co-founder of start-up Urbanclap Abhiraj Bhal will attend this event. Four Youth Connect Forums will be organised between the 5th and 16th of January, ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2019.
Principal secretary in Gujarat government Jayanti Ravi, while addressing a press conference on Thursday, said, “This event is titled as ‘Shaping a New India: The Story of a Billion Dreams’, the talks will bring together youths- university students, young professionals, entrepreneurs and youth icons from different backgrounds such as the Corporate, Start-up, Sports and Social Impact fields. The sessions will be a forum for exchange of ideas and knowledge. “
Some of the big names include, cricketers Ravindra Jadeja, Irfan Pathan and Cheteshwar Pujara, industry leaders Punit Lalbhai from Arvind Mills, Sharvil Patel from Zydus Group and other also will remain present to discuss their thoughts with young generation.
Registered participants will also have an opportunity to participate in a Crowd Sourced Ideas Hackathon (Cridah). The competition will take place on a mobile application developed by iCreate, Gujarat’s premier technology business incubation centre.
The aim of the idea hackathon is to create a ‘virtual’ contest to drive deep and meaningful youth engagement that encourages collaboration and teamwork in the spirit of learning and enquiry.
Special seminar on health, pharma sector
The additional chief secretary in health department, Punamchand Parmar, said, “There will be a special seminar on health and pharmaceutical sector during the VGS. More than 500 leaders from the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry are expected at the seminar to be held on January 19 at Mahatma Mandir.”
